Columbus State falls 3-1 to Lynn

Lynn University downed the Columbus State Cougars baseball team 3-1 Sunday at Ragsdale Field.

The game remained scoreless until the third inning when Lynn brought in two runs, one on a single and another on a throwing error by CSU.

The Cougars' lone run of the game came after a flyout by Dustin Averett, which allowed Brendan Collins to advance to third and then score on a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh.

Lynn added an insurance run in the top of the ninth, and Columbus State was unable to rally. Lynn held the Cougars to just a single hit in the contest.

Bryan Headley (1-1) picked up the loss for CSU. He threw for six innings and gave up two runs on five hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

Columbus State (3-4) will host Clark Atlanta Wednesday with a 4 p.m. start time.
