PANAMA CITY, Fla, -- The Chattahoochee Valley Community College Pirates ended the Gulf Coast invitational with a 14-7 win over host Gulf Coast Sunday.
CVCC jumped out to a 5-1 lead, but two errors gave up five runs and the lead to Gulf Coast. The Pirates' offense then more than made up for the gap, ending with the big win.
JD Perry went 3-4 with a home run and two RBIs, Trevor Kieboom went 2-3 with a double and three RBIs and Drew Lingo went 2-4 with a double and three RBIs for the Pirates. CVCC had total 18 hits in the game.
Will Tillery (2-0) was the winning pitcher. He went 2-3 of an inning and gave up no hits or runs.
"Our offense bounced from last night," coach Adam Thoams said. "We played well but hit it right at them. I'm proud of the team for bouncing back."
CVCC fell to Alabama Southern 4-3 on Saturday. The Pirates led for most of the game, but Alabama Southern hit a go-ahead run in the eighth.
Hunter Mitchell (1-1) picked up the loss.
"He was good in relief," Thomas said. "It was a tough luck loss."
