GHSA pushes back start of state tournaments for basketball, wrestling

February 10, 2014

In advance of possible winter weather hitting north Georgia this week, the GHSA has adjusted the state tournament dates for wrestling and basketball.

The wrestling tournament, which was scheduled to begin on Thursday at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, will now begin on Friday. Officials still plan on finishing on Saturday.

For basketball, the first round of the state tournament has been pushed back a day as well. The first round for the girls will be Feb. 19 with the boys playing on Feb. 20. The GHSA did this in case some regions have to extend their tournaments to Monday.
