Reward offered for 2 escapees from Tattnall County

A $2,500 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of two men who escaped through the roof Jan. 24 from the Tattnall County Jail.

Lamont Ruffin, a public affairs officer for the Marshals Service in the Middle District, said escapees Chad Everette Dasher and Raymond Thomas Smith are considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Both escapees are white. Dasher was held on multiple charges in connection with a multi-county crime spree in Georgia in 2012. Past charges have included burglary, firearms, fraud, narcotics, resisting arrest and traffic offenses. He is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighing 140 pounds with green eyes and brown hair.

Smith was held on multiple counts of aggravated child molestation before the escape. He is 6 feet, 1 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes.

Some of Smith’s previous arrests were on assault, firearms and obstruction of law enforcement officer.
