Police track stolen Phenix City car to Peachtree Mall

Columbus and Phenix City Police worked together to track down a stolen vehicle just hours after it was reported missing Tuesday, according to a Columbus Police report.

Columbus officers received reports that Phenix City Lt. Steve Nolan had tracked a stolen Phenix City vehicle to the Peachtree Mall. There, police found two 14-year-old boys walking back to the vehicle. They were arrested and charged with bringing stolen property into the state and theft by taking motor vehicle at about 3 p.m.

Both boys were transported briefly to the Columbus Police Department before being released to their guardians.
