Thursday's business closings, delays

The latest winter storm dodged the Chattahoochee Valley, but many businesses are opening late today as a precaution. Here's a recap:

• New Horizons Community Service Board staff are to report at 10 a.m.

• The following Columbus Regional Health medical facilities and physician offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday: Family Medicine Center; Drs. Kendall Handy, Richard Allen and Jefferson Jones II – OB/GYN Clinic; Dr. Julie Roberts – Northside Family Medicine; Drs. Tommy Stewart and Timothy Villegas – Regional Obstetrics and Gynecology; Drs. David Flowers and April Hartman – Columbus Regional Pediatrics; Dr. Paul LoDuca – Pediatric Hematology/Oncology; Drs. Demetrice Hill and Robert Jacobson – Columbus Regional Maternal/Fetal Medicine; Drs. Paul Cartwright, Jose Espinel and William Streetman – Minimally Invasive Surgical Institute; Dr. Peter Serafi – Columbus Regional Thoracic Surgery; Dr. Joseph McCarty – Pediatric Neurology; Dr. Nojan Valadi – Neurology; Drs. Bruce Brennaman, Scott Hannay, Robert Jenks and Mac Molnar – Surgical Associates; Dr. Kenneth Smith – Center for Surgical Breast Care; Outpatient Clinic; MyCare Urgent Care Center – South Lumpkin Road; MyCare Urgent Care Center – Blackmon Road.

The following units at Fort Benning will open at delayed hours: Emergency Personnel and Unit Training Coordinators start at 8 a.m.; IMCOM and Garrison start at 10 a.m.; MEDCOM will start at 11 a.m.; TRADOC and NAS personnel will start at noon and Tenet Units also will start at noon.

• The following Columbus Regional Health medical facility will open at 11 a.m. Thursday: John B. Amos Cancer Center.

• The following Columbus Regional Health medical facility will be open regular business hours (7 a.m.-7 p.m.): MyCare Urgent Care - Doctors Specialty Hospital campus

• The Georgia Department of Labor’s Columbus Center Center, 700 Veterans Parkway, will open at noon Thursday and, weather permitting, remain open until 4:30 p.m. Contact the center at 706-649-7423.

• Columbus Christian Women's Connection's February luncheon at Green Island has been canceled.

• Easter Seals West Georgia will open for participants at 10 a.m. Thursday. Staff members are to report at 9 am.
