AUBURN, Ala. — Exactly one week after national signing day, Auburn added another player to its 2014 recruiting class.

College of San Mateo (Calif.) cornerback Joseph Turner verbally committed to Auburn on Wednesday according to multiple outlets. Turner was once committed to Washington State, where he was set to become an early enrollee this spring. He didn't graduate in December, however, and the Cougars ended up giving his spot to another signee. After that, Turner reopened his recruitment, and according to AuburnSports.com, he was in Auburn on Monday and Tuesday to visit the campus.

Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 4 junior college cornerback in the 2014 class, with the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Turner becoming the Tigers' fourth cornerback in this year's recruiting haul.

But the status of cornerback signee Kalvaraz Bessent is still murky.

The four-star prospect out of Camden County (Ga.) was arrested on a pair of felony drug charges in Florida this past weekend. Auburn coach Gus Malzahn has still yet to address the situation directly, with his only comment coming via a team spokesman on Saturday, noting that the coach was "aware of the situation and is continuing to gather information."
