Tuesday, a Second Avenue father learned his 17-year-old daughter had not only stolen his truck again, but also fled the scene of an accident, according to a Columbus Police report.

Officer Nathan Tooley called the 54-year-old man after a single-vehicle crash was reported at the corner of Fort Benning Road and Matthews Street. When Tooley arrived at the scene of the wreck, the man's 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up had already fled the scene. The nature of the wreck was not described.

Tooley soon learned that Tuesday was not the first time the teen swiped her father's truck. According to the report, Tooley was soon contacted by a detective who detained the daughter at a mobile home park on Joy Road. The officer recognized the teen from a previous case where she took her father's vehicle.

Police also discovered a warrant for the daughter for theft by taking motor vehicle after she hijacked her father's vehicle and crashed it at a previous, unspecified time.

When police asked the daughter about the theft, she allegedly stated, "I wrecked Dad's truck and left."

The report did not list the daughter as arrested. Tooley noted that warrants would be taken out for the latest theft.
