Auburn baseball downs Indiana State 4-0 in classic

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The Auburn baseball team's first game under coach Sonny Golloway ended in a 4-0 win over Indiana State Friday in the Snowbird Classic.

Damon Haecker hit an RBI single in the top of the second, Blake Austin hit a two-RBI single in the sixth and Keegan Thompson brought in a run on a groundout in the seventh to account for the Tigers' runs.

Dillon Ortman was the winning pitcher for Auburn. He pitched five innings and gave up no runs off five hits with three strikeouts.

Auburn (1-0) will play against Ohio State today at noon and against UConn at 11 a.m. Sunday in the classic.
