CVCC sweeps Abraham Baldwin with 9-3 and 10-1 victories

Tyler Lynn went a combined 6-for-7 and drove in four runs to lead Chattahoochee Valley Community College to a sweep of a doubleheader Saturday over Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

In game one, Hunter Mitchell (2-1) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning. He gave up one hit and left after six complete innings in the 9-3 win. He struck out seven and walked two. He got all the run support he needed in the first inning when the Pirates took a 4-0 lead on four consecutive extra-base hits.

Lynn was 3-for-4 with two doubles and drove in two runs. John Holland was 2-for-4 with two triples and two RBI. Jared Martin homered in the third inning as the Pirates built the lead. Martin was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs.

In game two, CVCC again built an early lead on ABAC and got a strong start from Kevin Moore. Moore gave up just two hits and one run over five innings in the 10-1 victory.

Lynn was 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Grayson Ivey went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. The Pirates' Trevor Kieboom was 2-for-3 and drove in a run.

CVCC (8-1) travels to Tifton, Ga., Sunday to play ABAC at 2 p.m. That game was postponed because of last week's inclement weather.
