Columbus police are investigating a Friday night shooting in which a man was wounded in the right foot.

According to the police report, the incident happened between 10:15 and 10:50 p.m.

Police talked to the 40-year-old victim in the emergency room at the Midtown Medical Center.

On Sunday, the man's son said that both he and his father were with friends on the street when they heard a boom and everyone scattered. He said nobody knows where the shot came from.

He said his father fell on top of him and did not realize he had been hit until he got up and had trouble standing on the foot.
