Region championships on the line for several local basketball teams

Region basketball tournaments will resume Monday for Georgia schools.

The Carver boys, which beat Peach County 54-44 Saturday night, will play Central-Macon for the 2-AAA championship. That game wll be at Peach County in Fort Valley.

Both of the Northside teams will play for 1-AAAAA championships today at Bainbridge High. The girls will play Lee County, while the boys will play Bainbridge. Hardaway's teams will play in consolation games: The girls will play Bainbridge, while the boys play Lee County.

The Region 5-AA tournament moves to Kendrick for today’s semifinals. In girls games, Spencer plays Manchester and Kendrick plays Bowdon. In boys games, Kendrick plays Spencer and Jordan plays Manchester.

The Columbus girls will play Fayette County for the 5-AAAA title at Alexander.

The Brookstone girls will play Marion County in the 4-A semifinals at Dooly County in Vienna.
