Report: Woman raped near South Lumpkin Road shopping center

A 35-year-old woman reported that her head was injured after she was raped Sunday in a parking lot near the Oakland Plaza shopping center on South Lumpkin Road, according to a Columbus Police report.

The woman told police the suspect assaulted her at about 11 p.m. in an unspecified part of the parking lot. She knew the suspect, but no description was given in the report.

She had bruises to her left wrist and shin, as well as lumps on the left side of her head, police noted.

No suspects have been named. Anyone with more information is encouraged to call Investigative Services at 706-653-3400.
