Mitchell Lee Myles, 27, of Phenix City was killed in a traffic crash on Interstate 185 near St. Mary's Road Saturday afternoon.

Myles was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:30 p.m. by Muscogee County Chief Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley.

Worley said the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Worley said the Ford pickup truck that Myles was driving, flipped over and Myles was hurled from it.

Police Patrol Lt. Jim Pope said the truck was traveling north when it collided with the rear end of another vehicle going northbound. The pickup truck went out of control.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle that overturned.

No injuries were reported in the other vehicle.

Northbound traffic was diverted at St. Marys Road exit while the wreckage was cleared and officers investigated the fatal accident.

Northbound traffic on the interstate was reopened on the road just before 6 p.m.

The case is still under investigation.
