Georgia Tech blanks UNC Greensboro 7-0

ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech blanked UNC Greensboro 7-0 Saturday thanks in part to six unearned runs allowed by four errors from Greensboro.

Georgia Tech had a 1-0 lead going into the eighth inning. Thomas Smith, Matt Gonzalez and Mitch Earnest scored on throwing errors 9in the inning, and Earnest and Ryan Peurifoy drove one run apiece.

Peurifoy was 2-3 with an RBI and Earnest went 1-4 with a run batted in.

Cole Pitts picked up the win for Georgia Tech. He pitched five innings and gave up no runs and three hits with six strikeouts and one walk.

The Yellow Jackets (3-3) will host UNC Greensboro for the last game in the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
