Crimson Tide rebounds with 8-0 win over Stephen F. Austin

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Friday Alabama's baseball team lost to Steven F. Austin 2-1 in 13 innings. Saturday's game proved to have a much different outcome, as the Crimson Tide cruised to a 8-0 win.

Alabama put a steady stream of runs on the board starting in the bottom of the second.

The Crimson Tide scored one run each in the second and third innings, but back-to-back RBI doubles by Mikey White and Ben Moore followed by a RBI single by Casey Hughston in the fifth inning gave Alabama a comfortable 5-0 lead,

The Tide scored one run each in the sixth, seventh and eighth to finish strong.

Hughston went 3-5 with three RBIs and White went 2-4 with two RBIs.

Justin Kamplain (1-0) picked up his first win of the season for Alabama. He pitched six innings and gave up no runs on three hist with seven strikeouts and no walks.

The Crimson Tide (3-2) will host Stephen F. Austin for the final game of the series today at 2 p.m.

Jay Shaw (Russell County) picked up the loss for Alabama (0-1) in Friday night's game. He threw for two innings and gave up one run on four hits with one walk.
