SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Justin Crawford scored a game-high 29 points, but it was not enough as the Hardaway Hawks lost to Jenkins 82-56 on Saturday night in the first round of the Class AAAAA state tournament.

WRESTLING

BOWLES, BROWDER FINISH THIRD

There were a pair of third-place finishers among local wrestlers at the GHSA state wrestling tournaments on Saturday.

Spencer's Tuyen Bowles (132 pounds) and Jordan's Raymond Browder (285) both finished third in the Class AA tournament.

Bowles won the consolation finals by beating Jeff Davis' Hunter Phillips 5-3. He also beat Phillips in the first match of the state tournament.

Browder beat East Laurens' Dexter Smith 13-3 in his consolation final.

Spencer's Laython Warren (145) and Joshua Sampson (170) both came in fifth. Warren beat Chattooga's Heath Kirk 6-2, while Sampson beat Cook's Raheem Coxfield 16-2. Yakariel Judah finished sixth after losing to Cook County's Artero Perez. Chris Baker also finished sixth, losing to GACS' DJ Coker.

Carver's Deandre Jackson (120) finished fourth, falling to Banks County's Dylan Suttles 15-7 in the third-place match. Carver's Brooks Alfred finished fifth, beating Sonoraville's Alex Hurlitz, 4-2.

Northside's Xavier Woods (170) finished fifth, beating Torrez Finney of Jones County 13-6 in the fifth-place match. Woods' teammate Chris Massenburger (285) finished sixth, losing to Seth Gorman of Pope in his final match.

Pacelli's Colin Mulvany (106) came in sixth, falling to Treutlen's Tyson Brooks 8-0.
