A Columbus man was stunned with a Taser then arrested and charged with simple assault at Spicoli's Bar & Grill in Columbus Saturday according to a police report.

Paul R. Cromer was arrested following an incident that took place at 2:45 a.m. Saturday at the Milgen Road business.

The bar's security officer told police he had told Cromer, a customer, that the bar was closed and he needed to leave. He said Cromer, who was intoxicated, refused to leave and began an argument. The security officer said that Cromer then pulled out a stun gun and attempted to use it on the officer who pulled out his Taser and used it on Cromer.

Cromer told police that he was not injured and did not need EMS personnel to be called.

He was transported to the Muscogee County Jail.
