Close to $3,000 reported stolen from vest in closet

A 25-year-old Columbus man told police that a burglar took approximately $3,000 from his Spencer Lane home and that most of it was in the front pocket of a vest in a closet.

According to the police report, some was also taken from a clothes drawer.

The crime occurred between 4 p.m. Saturday and 2:20 a.m. Sunday.

A door on the west side of the house was damaged and it is believed entry was made there. The cost of the damage to the door is estimated at $500.
