CVCC downs West Georgia Tech 4-1

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — The Chattahoochee Valley Community College Pirates defeated West Georgia Tech 4-1 Tuesday. The game was a pitchers duel and remained close for much of the contest.

CVCC took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a sac fly for an RBI by Tyler Lynn, and James Cunningham brought in another run in the second to put the Pirates up 2-0.

CVCC put the game out of reach when Jared Martin hit a two-run double in the eighth.

Dylan Lee (2-0) picked up the win. He pitched seven and 2/3 innings and gave up one run on six hits with three strikeouts. Chris Brown finished off the game and picked up his fourth save.

“I’m really proud of Dylan,” CVCC coach Adam Thomas said. “He pitched on heck of a game.”

CVCC (14-1) is now ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA. The Pirates will travel to Andrew College tomorrow for a game starting at 2 p.m.
