Auburn rides big inning to 7-3 win over Alabama A&M

AUBURN, Ala. -- The Auburn Tigers downed Alabama A&M 7-3 Tuesday at Plainsman Park thanks in part to a five-run first inning.

Blake Austin started off the scoring with a sac fly for an RBI. Damek Tomscha hit an RBI single and later scored on a throwing error. Daniel Robert and Jordan then followed up with RBI singles of their own.

The Tigers would go on to score two more runs in the fourth inning thanks to an RBI double by Ebert and a run on a throwing error by Ryan Tella.

Alabama A&M managed three runs in the contest but were unable to overcome Auburn's lead.

Ebert went 2-3 with two runs batted in for the Tigers.

Kevin Davis (1-0) picked up the win. He pitched three innings and gave up two runs on two hits with a strikeout and four walks.

Auburn (4-4) will host Presbyterian for a three-game series beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
