Auburn Police have charged a second man with the sexual abuse of a girl under 12 years old, according to a news release.

Mohamed H. Alyami, 21, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree sodomy and sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. He was arrested a day after suspected cohort Nathan S. Childers, 29, who has been charged with first degree rape, first degree-sodomy and one other sex-related charge.

The assault occurred Sunday at a residence off Wire Road while the child was in Childers' care, according to the release. The victim has been placed in foster care through Lee County Department of Human Resources until the investigation is complete.

Childers' bond was set at $150,000 after he was transported to the Lee County Detention Facility. A bond has not yet been set for Alyami.
