High school roundup: Miller leads Marion County to 3-1 win

BUENA VISTA, Ga. -- Trent Miller went 3-for-4 and tripled in the go-ahead runs Wednesday to lead Marion County to a 3-1 win over Taylor County.

Dylan Price (1-0) picked up the win for Marion County.

Price, Dustin Pickren and Austin Morgan each had two hits in the win.Wednesday at Buena Vista, Ga.

Columbus defeats Rutland

The Columbus High rifle team defeated Rutland High 1,133 to 1,058 on Wednesday.

The high scorer was Josh Gonzales at 290, followed by Veronica Leggett at 283.

Columbus finished the regular season with a record of 9-1.

Columbus High will compete in Area 1 championship March 5 at the Army Marksmanship Unit at Fort Benning at 4 p.m.Wednesday
