Rape suspect arrested Friday night

A man known to go by Corderell "Deundrea" St. George

A man accused of assaulting a Columbus woman in her home last month was taken into custody Friday night, police said.

Corderell St. George, 23, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. and taken to the Muscogee County Jail. He is held on one count each of rape and false imprisonment for an 8 a.m. Monday Recorder’s Court hearing.

He’s suspected of sexually assaulting a woman Feb. 5 inside her home off Glenmore Drive.

Police suspect he may be responsible for similar crimes and is known to commonly work as a commercial landscaper.

At 6 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds, St. George was considered dangerous before his arrest. Officials said he may have relocated to Columbus from the Lanett-Valley, Ala., area.
