King, Gonzalez lead Jackets to 3-2 win over Bowling Green

ATLANTA -- Bowling Green jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning Friday, but Georgia Tech rallied for three runs in the third and held on for a 3-2 win.

Mott Hyde went 3-for-4 to lead the Jackets.

In the Georgia Tech third inning, Ryan Peurifoy drove in a run, and Matt Gonzalez then singled in the tying and go-ahead runs.

Jonathan King (2-0) spread seven hits over 7 1/3 innings to pick up the win. He struck out four and walked two. Dusty Isaacs worked a hitless ninth inning to pick up the save.

Cody Apthorpe (1-2) allowed three earned runs on seven hits over six innings and got the loss.

The Jackets host Bowling Green today at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. The Jackets take on Georgia in Athens on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
