Louisiana Lafayette defeats error-prone Tide 2-0

LAFAYETTE, La. -- Alabama outhit Louisiana Lafayette 7-2, but the Ragin Cajuns scored twice in the seventh inning without the benefit of a hit to defeat the Tide 2-0.

Alabama (4-4) made two errors in the seventh inning and Lafayette took advantage. The Tide had a total of three errors in the game.

Ben Moore went 3-for-4 for the Tide.

Alabama squandered its best chance in the first inning when they got three hits, but they left the bases loaded.

Spencer Turnbull (0-1) allowed only two hits and struck out six in taking the loss.

Austin Robichaux (1-0) struck out 11 spread out seven hits in the game.

The teams meet again today at 2 p.m. CST and Sunday at 1 p.m. CST.
