Presbyterian defeats Auburn 10-6 in series opener

AUBURN, Ala. -- Presbyterian built a 10-1 lead Friday night and then survived a ninth inning rally to defeat Auburn 10-6.

Presbyterian rapped out 17 hits in the game. The Tigers had 14 hits in the game. Four of those hits came in the bottom of the ninth when the Tigers rallied for five runs.

Starter Dillon Ortman (2-1) gave up four runs on 11 hits in taking the loss.

Beau Dees (3-0) spread eight hits over seven innings in picking up the win.

Ryan Tella went 3-for-4 for Auburn (4-5). Connor Short and Keegan Thompson each had two hits for the Tigers in the loss.

The two teams meet today at 3 p.m. CST and Sunday at 1 p.m. CST.
