Lousiana Lafayette shuts down Tide 6-0

LAFAYETTE, La. -- No. 10 Lousiana Lafayette built an early lead Saturday and Carson Baranik and Matt Plitt shut down No. 21 Alabama to lead Ragin Cajuns to a 6-0 win.

Alabama (4-5) managed just three hits off Baranik (2-0), who went 7 1/3 innings for the win. Plitt walked the first batter he faced and then got the last five batters in order.

Starter Justin Kamplain (1-1) gave up three runs on two hits and took the loss.

The Tide lost the first game of the series 2-0 Friday night.

The final game of the series is today at 1 p.m. CST. Former Russell County star Ray Castillo (0-0, 3.38 ERA) will be on the mound for the Tide. The Ragin Cajuns (10-1) will send out Gerg Milhorn (2-0, 0.73 ERA).
