Some schedules released for local football teams

Reclassification affecting scheduling

High school football schedules for the 2014 season are starting to be released.

With this being a reclassification year for both Georgia and Alabama, there are some new teams and new regions affecting scheduling.

In Georgia, Columbus, Carver, Shaw, Hardaway, Northside and Harris County are in a new Region 1-AAAAA with LaGrange. The other Muscogee County School District teams -- Spencer, Kendrick and Jordan -- are in 2-AAA with Peach County, Jackon, Rutland, Central-Macon, Southwest-Macon and Westside-Macon.

Brookstone and Pacelli remain in Region 4-A along with Central-Talbotton, Greenville, Hawkinsville, Marion County, Schley County and Taylor County.

Chattahoochee County remains in Region 5-AA with Bowdon, Bremen, Heard County, Manchester and Temple.

Meanwhile in Alabama, Central and Smiths Station are in Class 7A Region 2 with Auburn, Enterprise, Jeff Davis, R.E. Lee and Prattville.

Russell County is in Class 6A Region 2 with Carver-Montgomery, Dothan, Northview, Park Crossing, Stanhope Elmore, Wetumpka and Carroll-Ozark.

And Glenwood is in AISA Class AAA Region 1 with Bessemer, Kingwood, Lee-Scott, Restoration and Tuscaloosa.

Here are the schedules that have been released so far. No schedules were available for Central, Russell County, Glenwood, Harris County and Chattahoochee County.
