Georgia completes sweep against Binghampton


ATHENS, Ga. -- The Georgia Bulldogs defeated Binghampton 9-2 Sunday to complete a three-game sweep.

The Bulldogs took an early, commanding lead by scoring three runs in each of the first and second innings. Binghampton walked in all three runs in the first and gave up a run on an error in the second. Zack Bowers and Brandon Stephens brought in the other two runs.

Georgia scored another run in the third and two in the seventh to maintain a large lead over Binghampton.

Bowers and Stephens both went 1-2 with two RBIs, and Stephen Wrenn went 2-4 with one RBI.

Patrick Boling (1-1) picked up the win. He pitched seven innings and gave up no runs on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks.

Georgia (5-6) will host rival Georgia Tech Tuesday at 7 p.m.
