Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Eagles signed defensive end Cedric Thornton to a one-year contract on Monday.

Thornton, 25, had been an exclusive rights free agent.

Last season, he started all 16 games for the Eagles, collecting 60 tackles and one sack.

The Southern Arkansas product went undrafted before signing with Philadelphia as a free agent in 2011.

After spending most of his rookie campaign on the practice squad, Thornton totaled 27 tackles as a reserve the next year.
