Dustin Averett leads Columbus State's rout of Clark-Atlanta


COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- Twelve players had at least one hit and eight had at least one RBI as Columbus State pounded Clark-Atlanta 14-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

Dustin Averett had four of those RBIs. He also hit his team-leading fourth home run of the season.

Mike McClellan and Caleb Williams also homered.

Jackson Oliver (2-for-5), Jimmy Obermark (2-for-5) and Carson Bowers (2-for-3) all had multiple hits.

Ryan Pistey (1-0) pitched four scoreless innings to earn his first win.

CSU, which has won 8-of-9, will host Salem International this weekend for a non-Peach Belt Conference series. Game 1 will be on Friday with a doubleheader on Saturday.
