High school roundup: Columbus High wins area rifle title

The Columbus High rifle team won the Area 1 championship on Wednesday at Fort Benning's Pool Range.

The Blyue Devils finished with a score of 1,133, one point better than Northside. Upson-Lee was third at 1,122,

Upson-Lee's Rosemary Kramer took top individual honors with a score of 293. Columbus' Veronica Leggett was second at 289.

Northside's Cason Borum beat teammate Brianna Henthorn in a tiebreaker to take third place with a 288.

The top six teams will comnpete in sectionals.
