Brookstone School sophomores start Food4KidsUSA chapters

March 8, 2014

Sophomores at Brookstone School, Jack Dudley and Jack Henslee, have successfully established chapters of Food4KidsUSA in Georgia and Alabama. Focused on providing food to school children, the boys have helpled launch and grow Backpack Buddies programs through Feeding the Valley, our area local food bank. The food bank helps provide bags of kid-friendly, nutrition food to sustain the children over the weekends when food may not be available. The bags are packed at local churches and high schools then delivered to local schools and churches for distribution to students in the area. Their local Food4KidsUSA chapter recently won a grant competition that will enable the boys to grow their programs and help provide food for even more hungry students now that they have received the grant. (Only 100 grands were awarded nationwide.)
