Columbus State pounds out 27 hits in rout of Albany State

ALBANY, Ga. -- Mike McClellan went 4-for-5 with a homer and drove in six runs as Columbus State routed Albany State 26-1 on Wednesday.

The Cougars pounded out 27 hits as 11 players collected hits. Blake Edwards went 5-for-6 with five runs scored and five RBIs.

Brendan Collins hit a grand slam.

Ryan Pistey (2-0) gave up just one run on four hits to earn the win.

Columbus State hosts Montevallo at 6 p.m. Friday.
