Dalton Rentz leads CVCC past Southern Union


WADLEY, Ala. -- Dalton Rentz pitched a complete-game to lead Chattahoochee Valley Community College to a 4-1 victory over Southern Union on Friday afternoon.

Rentz (5-1) have up five hits and three walks to go with seven strikeouts. The run was unearned.

Trevor Kieboom led the Pirates (18-6, 4-1 ACCC) at the plate. He hit a two-run homer in the fourth to break the scoreless tie,

Sam Knight went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. John Holland went 2-for-3 and had a stolen base.

The teams finish the series on Saturday with a doubleheader. Game 1 is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
