Ortman pitches shutout; Ebert and Tomscha power Auburn to 4-0 win over Texas A&M


AUBURN, Ala. -- Jordan Ebert and Damek Tomscha each had three hits to lead Auburn to a 4-0 Southeastern Conference win Friday night over Texas A&M at Plainsman Park.

Dillon Ortman (4-1) spread four hits over nine innings and took the complete-game shutout. With the bases loaded and one out in the ninth inning, Ortman induced a grounder that ended the game with on double play.

Daniel Mengden gave up four runs on nine hits and took the loss for the Aggies.

The Tigers took the lead in the first inning when Ebert scored on a sacrifice fly and Tomscha scored on an RBI single by Daniel Robert.

Tomscha and Blake Austin each drove in runs for the Tigers.

Auburn (12-6, 1-0 SEC) moved up its Sunday home game against Texas A&M (13-6, 0-1) due to weather. The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m. at Plainsman Park.
