Russell County High student killed on U.S. 431

A 16-year-old Russell County High School student is dead after a pick-up truck T-boned her Mitsubishi Eclipse on U.S. 431, according to the Russell County Coroner's Office.

Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. said Monday morning that Jana Hobbs, of Fort Mitchell, was traveling near Uchee Hill Highway in Seale, Ala. She was rushed to Midtown Medical Center after the truck struck her vehicle at about 8:15 a.m. The student was pronounced dead at about 9 a.m.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the crash as of Monday afternoon.
