Fort Benning will be conducting a "force protection training exercise" for most of the day today.

Because of the extra law enforcement personnel on base, you may encounter traffic detours and delays.

Anyone on or near the installation will likely hear sirens and blank ammunition being fired. You may also see an increased presence of emergency response vehicles and smoke in the area.

Fort Benning said "motorists are encouraged to allow extra time traveling to their destinations on post today … ."
