Cougars finish in 7th at invitational


EATONTON, Ga. -- The No. 11 Columbus State men's golf team finished the second day of the Bobcat Invitational tied for seventh after shooting a 15-over 295 Tuesday at the Golf Club at Cusowilla.

CSU totaled a 606 over the two-day event, 15 shots back of winner USC-Aiken (591).

Bryan Lichimo and Robert Mize both shot a 73, three over par. Mize had the low score for the Cougars with a two-day total of 147, putting him in 20th place individually. Lichimo totaled a 152, putting him tied for 31st.

Cates Culpepper shot a 74 for a 153 total (36th), James Clayton shot a 75 for a 159 total (68th) and Jack Stumpfig shot a 76 for a 152 total (31st).

Columbus State will play in the Bearcat Invitational Monday at Greenwood Country Club in Greenwood, S.C.
