Michael O'Neal leads Auburn to 10-0 rout of Coppin State

AUBURN, Ala. -- Michael O'Neal (Pacelli, CVCC) pitched six shutout innings to earn the win as Auburn routed Coppin State 10-0 on Tuesday night.

O'Neal, who started the season as one of the weekend pitchers for the Tigers, entered the game with an 0-2 record with a 3.80 ERA.

This was his first start since March 9, when he got a no-decision after the bullpen blew a three-run lead in the ninth.

He had allowed just two unearned runs in 6 2-3 innings in that game.

Two relievers finished Tuesday night's shutout. Coppin State managed just three hits.

Auburn (14-7) scored at least one run in all eight of its at-bats.

Jordan Ebert and Damon Haecker drove in three runs apiece.

The two teams play again today at Plainsman Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
