Georgia Tech squeaks by Kennesaw State 8-7

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Georgia Tech scored on a balk in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Kennesaw State on Tuesday night.

Matt Gonzalez led off the ninth by reaching on a bunt single. He went to second on a sacrifice bunt, then to third on a ground out.

He scored when reliever Justin McCalvin was called for a balk.

Gonzalez was one of four Tech players with two hits.

Sam Clay picked up the win. He pitched the final 2 1-3 innings.

Georgia Tech (12-8) plays another non-ACC game on Wednesday when it travels across Atlanta to play Georgia State. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
