Snakes down Surge 3-2 after shootout

The Columbus Cottonmouths were tied 2-2 with the Mississippi Surge at the end of regulation Friday, but the Snakes won a shootout to take a 3-2 win.

The Surge took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission, but goals from Jason Gray and Matt Gingera leveled the game at 2-2.

Andy Willigar and Kyle Johnson both put the puck in the back of the net for Columbus in the shootout, and Mississippi was unable to match.

The Cottonmouths (27-25) will travel to play their final game of the regular season against Huntsville Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
