Columbus native Shivers promoted to division fire chief

Columbus native Jason Shivers, now of Dahlonega, Ga., formerly of Columbus, has been promoted to the rank of division chief of Technical Services for the Forsyth County Fire Department in Forsyth County, Ga. He is responsible for the training, emergency medical services, motor maintenance and quartermaster components of the department. He joined the department in 1998.

Shivers is a 1992 graduate of Columbus High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from North Georgia College in Dahlonega. He is the son of Bob and Dawn Shivers of Columbus.
