Arkansas evens series with Tide with 2-1 win

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas' Eric Fisher singled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eight Saturday to lead the Razorbacks to a 2-1 win over Alabama.

Thomas Burrows (3-1) gave up the winning run in the eighth inning in relief and took the loss. Trey Killian (1-3) threw a complete game 4-hitter and picked up the win for the Razorbacks.

Saturday's game was in stark contrast with Friday night's slugfest. The Tide defeated Arkansas 17-9 in a game that included a 53-minute rain delay.

Alabama had 15 hits in that game. Wade Wass and Austen Smith homered and each drove in four runs.

Former Russell County pitcher Jay Shaw (1-1) got the win in relief and Zach Lowery (1-1) took the loss.

Alabama (15-7, 3-2 SEC) and Arkansas (12-8, 2-3 SEC) meet in the final game of the series today at 2:05 p.m.
