High school roundup: Red Jackets split pair of games

Jordan split a pair of games on Alumni Day at the school.

The Red Jackets lost 15-6 to Brookstone in Game 1, then beat Pacelli 5-4 in Game 2.

In the first game, Eliot Turner went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs to lead the Cougars.

In the second game CJ White drove in three runs to lead Jordan.Saturday at Jordan

SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. -- Northside's Julia Scroggins finished third in the B Flight in the Georgia Peach Golf Tournament.

Playing in the D Flight, which was a team scramble flight, Northside's Sophia Celec played on the winning team. Maria Caruso and Savannah Boozer played on the second-place team.

OPELIKA, Ala. -- Opelika shut out Central on two hits in the first game of a doubleheader, which gave the Bulldogs a sweep in the two games in the series that will count in the Class 6A Area 5 standings.

In the second game, Central rallied from a 6-1 deficit with four runs in the fourth and six in the seventh for an 11-6 lead.

But Opelika scored six in the bottom of the seventh for the win.Friday at Opelika

GIRLS TRACK Northside girls finish 4th TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Northside girls track team finished fourth in a 49-team Florida State Relays on Saturday. Chelsea Nix set school records in both the 100-meter and 300 hurdles. She finished fourth in the 100 with a time of 16.38 seconds. She finished fourth in the 300 in 46.89. The 4x100 relay team (Nix, Erin Nix, Karaysha White and Sydney Wright) finished third with a season-best time of 49.05. The same four combined to finish second in the 4x200 in 1:44.65. Wright finished second in the 100 dash with a season-best time of 12.35. Northside’s Tyrris Mitchell finished fourth in the boys 100 in 11.35.
