Mercer limits Georgia Tech to five hits in win

ATLANTA — Five Mercer pitchers combined on a five-hitter as the Bears beat Georgia Tech 4-1 on Tuesday night.

Thomas Smith had two of Tech's hits and scored the lone run. He scored in the fourth on a ground out by Keenan Innis. That tied the game at 1.

Mercer (20-6) took the lead for good in the fifth on an unearned run.

Georgia Tech (15-10) opens an ACC series at Pittsburgh at 3 p.m. Friday.
