Metro State ends Tuskegee's tournament run 106-87


EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Brandon Jefferson scored 26 points to lead Metro State College over Tuskegee 106-87 Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Division II Men's Basketball Tournament.

No. 8 seed Tuskegee (21-12) recorded upset wins on their way to the tournament's South Regional title. But in the Elite Eight Metro State shot 50 percent on its 3-point attempts and put the game away at the free throw line. Metro State shot 82.9 percent from the charity stripe.

Metro State (32-1) made 22 more free throws (34-for-41) than Tuskegee (12-for-19).

Tuskegee was led by Keith Winn with 18 points and Richard Dean with 16 points.
