CSU splits softball doubleheader with Georgia Southwestern


AMERICUS, Ga. -- Morgan Knight went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs Wednesday to lead the Lady Cougars to a win in the second game of a doubleheader and gain a split with Georgia Southwestern.

Taylor Turner (7-7) spread six hits over seven innings for the win. Ashley Cavender (9-9) took the loss.

In Game 1, Georgia Southwestern scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 5-5 tie and take control of the game.

Lindsey DeFee (3-4) took the loss in relief. Allison Pastor (10-7) got the win.

CSU (21-14, 4-6 PBC) hosts Lander for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday.
