High school roundup: Northside rifle team advances to state

The Northside High rifle team defeated Gainesville High 1,149 to 1,130 Thursday to advance to the state meet at Fort Benning on April 12.

Northside will face 13 other teams for the state title. The Patriots are three-time state champions. Last year they finished fourth out of 14 teams at the state meet.

Northside's Cason Borum was the top shooter in the semi-final match with a 294.
